The Total Concept Academy Residence (“Res”) is ideally situated in 7th Avenue, Newton Park – just a quick 5 minute walk from the campus on Pickering Street. It’s also conveniently located near popular shops and restaurants, making daily errands and outings easy and accessible.

The Residence

The residence accommodates students from various locations, with the majority coming from out of town and offers accommodation on a 12 month lease, running from January through to December, aligning perfectly with the Academy’s academic calendar. For students leaving home for the first time, the “Res” serves as a supportive, transitional environment, balancing independence with structure. It provides a comfortable and safe living space where students aren’t left completely on their own in an unfamiliar city.

Our Rules / Rules

While students at the “Res” enjoy their independence, they are still required to follow the Academy’s code of conduct, especially regarding behavior and responsibility. The structure is designed to encourage academic focus and as the residents are all girls attending the Academy, studying in the same field and are therefore well positioned to help each other with both academic work and practical training. To support this, a spare therapy bed is kept on site to facilitate practice outside of formal class time. The atmosphere promotes both personal growth and peer collaboration in a safe, respectful environment that supports educational success.

• Rooms: Each of the 11 private rooms is equipped with built-in cupboards, a bed, wall mirror, bookshelf, study desk and chair, and its own individual alarm system with panic button
• Bathrooms: 3 full shared bathrooms for resident use
• Kitchen: Spacious, fully equipped communal kitchen
• Laundry: Full laundry facilities included
• Lounge: Comfortable shared lounge with lounge suite, television, and entertainment space
• Outdoor Area: Garden space suitable for socialising, with a built-in braai and ample parking

Safety is a top priority:

• 24/7 response service with a local security company
• Individual room alarms and panic buttons
• Whole-house alarm system activated when the residence is unoccupied
• Secure electric fencing
• A security gate at the front door, the sole entrance from the street
